TENDULKAR Fails!!! India FAILS to chase

How often have u seen... INDIA CHASING--> INDIA LOST-->TENDULKAR FAILED !!!!!!

A major problem that the Indian cricket team is facing recently is that while chasing (even on good pitches) their most experienced batsmen who bats at such an influential position in the batting order is not performing
If you exclude the Coca-cola cup(Sharjah) `98, I cant think of any match where Tendulkar has been a major contributor in India`s successful run chases. If you look at the ongoing CB series Tendulkar has managed 128 runs in 7 innings with an batting avg of 18 and his performance in the matches where India have chased is "PATHETIC" to say the least. After a brilliant Test series, it's not so much his form in this one-day series that is the concern but his contribution, at that crucial opening position when India is set bigger targets to chase. If you look at it, it's a simple batting issue that the maestro along with the team management should professionally address

I believe that Tendulkar seems to let the team down the most while chasing big targets. If one looks at his performance in year `07 Tendulkar emerges out to be the most prolific run getter but he hardly contributed anything while batting second.
But this did not become a talking point as he compensated by scoring heavily in the first innings of the match.

Senior players like Dravid and Ganguly were shown the door from the ODI team as the selectors and the captain felt that they could not contribute efficiently but my question is what contribution is Mr. Tendulkar doing ??? Why is Tendulkar`s performance not questioned?? To me Tendulkar is
the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about.

I think it is not good to criticize Tendulkar in this way. He has time and again proved his mettle. The fact that in most of the recent games played he has failed to perform cannot be denied but that does not mean that he should be made to sit on bench.

Team India has won many matches without its big players like Sachin, Saurav and Dravid. So even if one of them is present in the team and fails to perform that should not affect the game of other players.

Other players should grab such a chance and prove themselves at such time instead of failing.

The Sun, called Sachin Tendulkar, will any how set in the game of cricket after some time. But even the setting Sun has lot of heat and let that the game of cricket enjoy that heat too !!!

If India loses a game of cricket, it is fault in team and no one particular player is responsible for a lost game.

I think we are all jumping the gun in criticising the Master. All great players go through a lean patch and for some one of the calibre of Sachin it wont take too long to get back into the groove.
If we can persist with Yuvraj in the middle order inspite of his horrendous run on Australian soil i see no reason why someone with double his experience cannot!!!
Just like Ponting & Symonds who were going through a lean patch suddenly discovered form i am sure Sachin would do the same as well. After all " Form is temporary ,Class is permanent".

well. I am not a avid follower of cricket, but the topic of dropping tendulkar out of cricket team springs up every now and then.
The opponents of the idea of dropping tendulkar always say that he is a great player and going through a lean patch and about what he has done for the indian team etc etc.
although i do agree with them, but we dont live in history. All good things come to an end.For how long the lean patch will continue..
I think its time to bid farewell to one of the greatest player of cricket.
lets move on

Good statistics dude.......But we should show some confidence on him. Every player is having bad patch in his lifetime. As Sachin Tendulkar is greatest player in the world. He will surely come out of this.

ahem ahem lotsa comments ya nikhar good job..hehe..well wat do i say among ppl so wel versed wid d game..jez dat lets not deny d contribution of 'd god of the cric' to dis game..after all dis discussion 1 thing we all agree to os dat india has become more n more dependent on senior players esp dis 1 man..which speaks volumes abt d very fact dat he is indispensable..d way he gauges d ball, hits is unmatched n his sheer presence in d team gives a mental edge..i do agree his not havin performed certainly puts a quest mark on his form but let it not cloud over his abilities..he mite not perform but has inspired several others to perform. There have been times ven he has been indispensable..dats al.Wid finals against australia tomorrow(COMMONWEALTHBANK SERIES),lets hope sachin unleashes dat magic agn..may d best man win.
